Steve Leon & The Accusations Announce Debut Album “Borrowed Time Bonanza”
STEVE LEON & THE ACCUSATIONS, an eclectic indie, country, and folk band, proudly announce the release of their first full-length album, “BORROWED TIME BONANZA,” on November 8th, 2024. This follows their critically acclaimed debut EP, “Louche,” and showcases the band’s unique sound and growth.
Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like The Clash, The Smiths, and The Cure, and blending it with the soulful vibes of Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams, and Gram Parsons, STEVE LEON & THE ACCUSATIONS create a distinctive musical fusion. Their sound combines indie songwriting with rich country and folk arrangements, featuring lilting violin, weeping pedal steel, and urgent mandolin chops. This innovative mix will appeal to fans of Wilco, Bright Eyes, Green On Red, Chuck Prophet, and The Long Ryders.
Since their debut EP, the band’s arrangements have grown richer, fully utilizing the dynamic potential of their 6-piece lineup. Steve Leon’s songwriting remains deeply personal but now encompasses broader themes. “BORROWED TIME BONANZA” reflects on life in a post-pandemic world, touching on themes of late-stage capitalism, societal frustration, and the search for beauty and love amidst chaos.
The album’s 10 tracks were recorded directly to 16-track analog tape, capturing the band’s authentic sound. Engineered and produced by Steve Leon at Hoboken Hi-Fi Studio and mastered by Bob Macc at Subvertcentral, the album promises a raw and honest listening experience.
“BORROWED TIME BONANZA” will be available on vinyl and digital platforms through German label Off Label Records, with distribution by Broken Silence and Sonic Rendezvous. The album will be preceded by the singles “Bound to Break” and “Free.” Following their successful European tour in August 2023 and numerous performances, including a notable show at the Musicstar club in Norderstedt/Hamburg, STEVE LEON & THE ACCUSATIONS are set to bring their new music to the stage. A European tour is planned for Fall 2024, with a second tour scheduled for Spring 2025.
STEVE LEON & THE ACCUSATIONS are an Antwerp-based band known for their adventurous blend of indie, country, and folk music.
