David Newbould facing monotonous moments
It’s been a busy few months for Nashville-based singer-songwriter, David Newbould. In May Newbould released a double-sided single (“Nobody Knows” b/w “Milwaukee”), showcased at the Americana West Music Festival in LA, toured the West Coast with label mate Rosy Nolan, and returned home to continue working on tracks for the upcoming release. Coinciding with a three-week European tour this November with his band, David Newbould is releasing his new single to streaming services, “Morning” via Blackbird Record Label.
“Morning”, was written with Roger Cook, the legendary British Nashville songwriter who goes all the way back to writing, “Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)”, for The Hollies, and someone who Newbould considers a friend. “He caught me playing one night at a little club down in Franklin. We became friends, and he’s a guy I like to get together and write with.” The song deals with something everyone has encountered – facing monotonous moments, and necessary evils while leaning on the wisdom that better moments are still around the corner. “Young dreams were long ago / Were they the perfect dream, ah we’ll never know…”
The song was produced and recorded in primitive fashion at Newbould’s home studio, Carport Lovin’, with him playing all the instruments himself. “Just whatever mics and skills I could cobble together. Was fun!”. Mixes were assisted by longtime producer friend, Billy Harvey.
David is available for live radio, TV, and YouTube sessions during his upcoming European tour between November 1st and November 18.
