Radio Veronica “Soundz Live” introducing Senja Sargeant

While the world now thankfully is opening up fast, we are excited to welcome the New Brunswick-born, Canadian native, Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter Senja Sargeant, as our new kid in town on the JohTheMa PROMOTIONS roster.

Rising from the club scene in Montreal as a teen, Senja signed her first major record deal at 26 with her country band, Ladies of the Canyon. The all-female quartet quickly gained notoriety and a dedicated following, garnering award nominations from Radio Music Canada and from the Canadian Country Music Association for their singles “Follow Me Down” and “Maybe Baby” – both written by Sargeant.

Most Dutchies will remember Senja Sargeant from The Voice of Holland where she quickly became a fan favorite on Team Waylon. Referring to her talent as “Godlike”, Waylon ultimately pulled her from the competition, claiming he would prefer to collaborate personally rather than proceed with her on the show.  Unfortunately, that claim never panned out. However, Senja Sargeant is a go-getter and is determined to achieve her goals. The fiercely independent Artist has surrounded herself with a dream team of A-list musicians including killer singer-songwriter and producer Shane Alexander to collaborate and bring life to her much anticipated self-titled EP. The music on Senja’s soon-to-be-released EP was recorded live at Alexander’s Buddhaland Studios in Southern California.

In the meantime, Senja Sargeant has been busy amassing a steadily growing international fan base that can hardly wait to see Senja perform live on stage. The long wait is coming to a close… Senja Sargeant is back! This Friday, July 1, 2022, between 7 and 10 p.m., Senja will be a guest on the Friday evening program of Radio Veronica “Soundz Live”. Senja will be talking about her debut EP release on September 23rd, the release party on September 21st in the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam and will perform some of the songs on her new EP. Go Senja Go! To support Senja’s upcoming EP release we are now booking shows. Because Senja is touring light, mostly solo if asked with a band, we are looking for small festivals, venues, and intimate living rooms with PA. In brief, venues that like to be filled with people listening to real music.

Don’t forget to get tickets for Senja’s nearly sold out (only 20 tickets left)  Real Roots Café LIVE session on October 23rd 2022 at Grand Café De M’ooije Waard in Millingen aan de Rijn.
