Scandi Noir Meets Nashville Grit: Magda Novels Unveils HOUSE OF MIRRORS

Magda NovelsStep into the introspective world of HOUSE OF MIRRORS, the upcoming release from MAGDA NOVELS. With dreamy textures and raw lyrical depth, the track explores the tangled maze of self-criticism and overthinking. Magda Novels carries the torch of the folk tradition but lights the way with a modern, alt-pop glow — think Scandinavian noir wrapped in Nashville grit. A compelling new voice for our times, and one to watch.

JohTheMa Promotions is thrilled to welcome MAGDA NOVELS to our roster! Led by Swedish powerhouse Magda Andersson, the band blends Americana, indie pop, and alt-folk into an atmospheric, soul-stirring sound. Stay tuned for her first single release and full-length debut album, coming fall 2025.

With a captivating blend of dreamy indie folk and subtle retro influences, Magda Novels releases the new single and video HOUSE OF MIRRORS on Friday, June 13th, 2025—a hypnotic reflection on self-criticism and the endless cycle of overthinking.

“HOUSE OF MIRRORS” feels like a maze of thoughts, where every mirror reveals a new layer of self-doubt. “It comes from a mental state of being hyper-aware of everything you say and do, and an overthinking mind can distort those words and actions into absurdity much like your reflection inside a mirror maze.”, says Magda Andersson

Originally, the last song written for the upcoming album, HOUSE OF MIRRORS, only found its true form in the studio. Magda Andersson: “It took some trial and error, but when we finally recorded it, everything just clicked—like it was always meant to sound this way.”

With a melancholic yet enchanting melody that lingers in your mind and a raw, honest tone, HOUSE OF MIRRORS perfectly encapsulates the album’s overarching theme: exploring the weaknesses of the human mind with curiosity and a touch of playfulness.

If you love the vulnerability of Big Thief, the lyrical depth of Joni Mitchell, or the artistic defiance of Patti Smith, Magda Novels is one to watch.
