Tas Cru Band Kicks Down the Fences with New Live Album

The Tas Cru Band is back and ready to unleash their raw, unfiltered energy with their highly anticipated live album, Tas Cru Band LIVE. A collection of their top ten fan-selected songs, this album is all about pure, cage-free performances, recorded live in-studio with an audience of party-goers. Stripped of the frills of traditional studio albums, Tas Cru Band LIVE delivers an unpolished, loose, and loud celebration of the band’s best-loved tracks.

For this album, it made perfect sense to feature the road-tested lineup that toured together throughout the summer and fall of 2023. This crew gelled on the road, and it shows in every note. Fans will recognize the soulful voice of Mia (Mary Ann) Casale, a longtime collaborator who has lent her rich vocals to all of Tas Cru’s studio albums. Live, Mia’s voice adds warmth and class to each song.

Bassist Tom Terry brings rock ‘n’ roll bravado to the band’s sound. With a resume that includes stints with Jason Ricci, Chris O’Leary, Alexis P. Suter, and Paul Nelson, Tom’s energy takes the band to new heights. Drummer Phil Diiorio injects high-octane power into every beat, while keyboardist Scott Ebner’s thoughtful yet ripping playing pushes the band to explore new sonic landscapes.

Tas Cru Band LIVE features the band at their best, taking on the songs that fans love the most. The album kicks off with “Dat Maybe” from the Blues Music Award-nominated Simmered & Stewed (2017), and then rolls into two tracks from 2023’s Riffin’ the Blue—the gospel-blues anthem “Stand Up” and the piano-driven “Brown Liquor Woman.”

Mia takes the spotlight on “Have a Drink” from Memphis Song (2018), while Scott Ebner leads the charge on “Take Me Back to Tulsa,” a fan favorite from You Keep the Money (2014). The journey continues with the gritty “Grizzle n’ Bone” from Simmered & Stewed and the funky groove of “One-Eyed Jack” from Memphis Song. The album closes with two more tracks from You Keep the Money—the title track and “Drunk Half the Time”—before wrapping up with the feel-good gospel-blues track “Heal My Soul,” co-written by Tas Cru and Mia Casale.

Hailed by fans as Tas Cru’s ultimate feel-good song, “Heal My Soul” brings the album to a triumphant close after a day of galloping through wide-open sonic spaces. Tas Cru Band LIVE is a no-holds-barred celebration of the Tas Cru Band’s signature sound—rough, raw, and real.

From March 11th to March 20th, 2025, The Tas Cru Band will be available for live performances within the Benelux. Check availability at Electric Blues Bash
